Lakshman Jhula

Lord Lakshmana crossed Ganga on ropes of jute and hence the bridge has been named in his honour as Lakshman Jhula . The best time to visit here is in winters and summers  i.e., between October to February and March to May . These months are perfect for sightseeing and visiting attractions . It is an iconic landmark in Rishikesh that connects two banks of the Ganges . This jhula is about 450 feet long , which connects Pauri district with Tehri Ditrict , also it offers a panoramic view of river Ganga and the Rishikesh city having number of temples . The nearest railway station to Lakshman Jhula is Rishikesh Railway Station , which is just 4 kms away from it and the nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun which is situated at a distance of 22 kms from the site, from where Shubh Yatra provides you transport facilities to reach the Jhula . Also it provides Hotel rooms, breakfast, lunch , dinner and sightseeing . . The entire bridge is made of iron and is situated at a height of 70 ft from the river . It was built in the year 1939 .
