Lord Lakshmana crossed Ganga on ropes of jute and hence the bridge has been named in his honour as Lakshman Jhula . The best time to visit here is in winters and summers i.e., between October to February and March to May . These months are perfect for sightseeing and visiting attractions . It is an iconic landmark in Rishikesh that connects two banks of the Ganges . This jhula is about 450 feet long , which connects Pauri district with Tehri Ditrict , also it offers a panoramic view of river Ganga and the Rishikesh city having number of temples .
